In the renovations for the Tulsa Theater, Goff worked with more conventional geometries that were either self-imposed or the result of the pre-existing conditions of artistic or collaborative execution in Tulsa; he continued to enliven those shapes with applied decoration, as he had in earlier work. In his 1930 remodel, there was no real opportunity for architectural massing, he achieved rich effects with the installation of special light fixtures, gilded air conditioning grilles, and acoustic tiles painted green, blue, white and gold. The result was described in one article as having “an obviously modernistic tinge… in every nook and corner.” Subsequent renovations removed the light fixtures and neutralized the colors among other changes. In 1978 Goff believed that nothing really remained of his original design. In September 2005 it was discovered that portions of the original interior still remain intact. Restoration of the hall is now under investigation.
